35 year old man charged following Police chase
A man has been hospitalised after his Dodge Nitro, swerved off the road and down a seven-metre drop onto the north bound lanes of the Kwinana Freeway around 1am this morning.
Police allege the driver was earlier involved in a police chase, along Hampton Road in South Fremantle however Police claim they abandoned the chase after losing sight of the car.
The driver was arrested following the crash and taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital. A WA Police spokesperson, said that the 35 year old man will be charged and summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
Claremont killer suspect maintained innocence throughout arrest.
Video has emerged of the arrest and initial police questioning of Claremont serial killer, Bradley Roberts Edwards.
In the video, Edwards maintains innocence throughout as police inform him of the reasoning behind the arrest.
“You’ve got to be joking,” he exclaims in the footage.
The hearing continues as the former 51-year old Telstra technician continues to defend his involvement of murdering, secretary Sarah Spiers, childcare worker Jane Rimmer and solicitor Ciara Glennon in 1996 and 1997.
A five-week adjournment will be held between the conclusion of the defence case and closing addresses.
Perth braces for storm and severe weather
Storms are set to hit Perth and the southwest this afternoon. Except rain, hail and gale force winds. The worst weather is set to arrive later in the afternoon or early evening.
The Bureau of Meterology forecast very strong winds with gusts up to 125 kilometres per hour, hail and rain to the south-west of Western Australia.
Residents are strongly advised to secure their homes and prepare for gale-force winds. Securing any loose items outside of their homes.
