With the coronavirus pandemic happening around the world and many places still affected by lockdown, people are finding new ways to pass the time and the introduction of new hobbies. One way that families are trying to keep themselves entertained is by the reintroduction of the classic old board games.
Many games have dealt with its test of time, Monopoly causes disagreements and dummy spits, Uno has its draw 4’s when you think the game is won and then there are games like charades.
Well the creators of Scrabble and Pictionary have announced a game changing rule during the testing time around the world.
Many have wondered for a long time just what this rule change might entail and the creators of both board games, Mattel have decided to announce that the new rule is the elimination of mobile phones to get rid of cheating and to ensure that families will remain talking to each other with no distractions.
The new edition of both games will include a box that will lock your phones away for the duration it takes to find a winner.
A Mattel spokesperson talked about the incident and said, “We want to include engaging moments of play”. “We are proud of the change and by eliminating technology from gameplay, we can become more appreciative of each other’s company”.
This rule is aimed at helping bring people together and also aimed at helping mindfulness by taking time away from technology and social media.
