After 20 years, the iconic Flying Scotsman Pub in Mt Lawley will close its doors.
Management took to social media to announce the closure of the venue which is also home to Grumpy’s Music Bar and Defectors Upstairs Bar.
“To everyone that has supported our venues; The Flying Scotsman, Caboose, Defectors, Velvet Lounge and Grumpies, we want to thank you all for being a part of our family and culture,” the Facebook post said.

“During these tough times it seems the landlord does not want us to renew the lease. We will hold on to our memories of the Scotto forever and what an amazing ride it has been over the last twenty years,”
“Again, from all the team, we want to say thank you for making the Scotto a place where everyone felt welcome and had a good time,” the post concluded.
Mt Lawley locals and pub-goers took to Facebook to show their support for the venue as one comment suggested “starting a Pica Bar style FB [Facebook] rescue as the Scotsman is an important meeting place for many in the Mount Lawley Community” in an attempt to save ‘The Scotto’.
