Hawks in the West
Isaac Muir – 27th of July 2020
Hawthorn Football Club have arrived in Perth after a disappointing loss to the Sydney Swans on Saturday evening. Players have been seen training at Leederville Oval today for their first training session since arriving in the West Australian hub. Hawks will be joined by Carlton as they are set to share the Leederville oval as a training facility ahead of their match against each other at Optus Stadium this Friday night.
Hawthorn have been under the microscope lately being dubbed as ‘’unwatchable’’ by media personal. Captain Ben Stratton has been in the firing range recently with fans calling him the ‘’worst captain of the history club’’. However, AFL is a team sport and the blame of poor performances can’t be blamed on one player. Statton is a West Australian, growing up in Dunsborough/Margaret River so maybe coming home might be beneficial for the out of form premiership defender.
Players where seen doing light training drills and set shot practice to ease them into their first training season in the West. Jaeger O, Meara was spotted on the pitch training with the team after 9 clearances on the weekend against the Swan.
Tickets for Friday night’s clash against Carlton will be available later in the week via Ticketmaster after the match was moved from a Thursday afternoon to Friday to accommodate for more fans attending the game.
