Cardinal Pell wins appeal
Cardinal George Pell will walk free after winning a High Court appeal against his historical child sex abuse convictions.
The Cardinal will be released from Barwon Prison today after the bench’s ruling was handed down by Chief Justice Susan Kiefel.
In a public statement, Cardinal Pell said a “serious injustice” had been remedied.
PM Johnson moved to ICU
LONDON: British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been moved to an intensive care unit (ICU) after his condition due to the coronavirus worsened overnight.
A Downing St spokesman said he was moved into ICU on the recommendation of medical staff and that Johnson was receiving “excellent care”.
A statement from the PM’s Office read: “The prime minister has been under the care of doctors at St Thomas’ Hospital, in London, after being admitted with persistent symptoms of coronavirus.
“Over the course of [Monday] afternoon, the condition of the prime minister has worsened and, on the advice of his medical team, he has been moved to the intensive care unit at the hospital.”
The Good News: Music makes you happy quicker!
New research from a British Academy of Sound Theatre (BAST) study has revealed the benefits of listening to music and its link to neural responses, The Good News Network reports.
“Most people hear or actively listen to music every day and as humans we tend to change our playlists based on our mood,” explained the neuroscientists at BAST.
Out of 7,581 people involved in a pre-trial survey in the project, 89% of the participants said that music was essential to their health and or well-being.
After listening to fast tempo music with happy lyrical content for just 9 minutes, 89% of participants had improved energy levels, 65% laughed more and/or felt happier, 82% felt able to take on anything or felt more in control of their lives.
