Man questioned following gun shots in Ellenbrook
Police are questioning a man after shots had been fired at a house and car on Rocklea Crescent in Ellenbrook around 7:20pm last night.
It is understood that no one in the house at the time were injured and they had left a short time later.
Neighbours report hearing several ‘cracks’ at around 7:30pm, with one witness saying
“It didn’t sound like a gun it sounded like fireworks going off.”
WA police would like anyone with CCTV of the incident to come forward and contact Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
Federal government MP’s ridicule Queensland’s bid for Virgin
Members of the Federal Government has ridiculed the Queensland bid has made for a stake in Virgin Airlines branded “Project Maroon” by the State’s new treasurer.
Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton took to social media calling the bid laughable as he took to social media in a scathing tweet aimed at the Queensland State Government
Queensland State MP Cameron Dick has said he’s serious about saving the 5000 jobs tied to the airline which went into voluntary administration last month, owing almost $7 billion to 12,000 creditors.
“We need to strike a hard bargain. I want those foreign banks and those foreign bond holders to take a haircut,” The Queensland treasurer told ABC radio.
Health fears for coffee drinkers
A world first study has found that drinking too many cups of coffee can be an issue as it can trigger diseases including osteoarthritis and obesity.
Coffee is one of the worlds most commonly consumed drinks in the world, and it has previously been linked to a healthy lifestyle, however researchers from the university of South Australia say that their study shows that excess consumption can cause poor health.
This was found after they used data from more than 300,000 participants in the UK Biobank, the team had examined connections between habitual Coffee consumption and a range of diseases including the aforementioned ones above.
“In this study, we used a genetic approach … to establish the true effects of coffee consumption. Reassuringly, our results suggest that moderate coffee drinking is mostly safe.” a researcher said.
