Deceased newborn found at Melbourne beach

A deceased baby has been found in Melbourne’s Seaford Beach.

The baby is believed to be a newborn with concerns raised about the well being for the mother of the child.

“The exact circumstances surrounding the death and the identity of the infant are yet to be determined at this stage,” Police said.

Police have also asked anyone with any information to step forward and get in contact.

Body-cams show heroic cops saving boy in house fire

WA Police have released body cam footage of a house fire that took place on March 27.

The footage shows two police officers running up to the house on fire and being told that an eight year old boy was still inside.

They begin calling out the young boy’s name and managed to drag him out of the building, he was then taken to hospital where he made a full recovery.

William Clayton Dwayne Eaton has been charged with starting the house fire, he will remain in custody until May 11.

Bayswater Station works to roll on

The WA government has announced the preferred new tenderer, Bayswater Alliance (Coleman Rail) to build the $253 million Bayswater Station project.

The new station as part of the government’s METRONET project will link Forrestfield-Airport and the Morley-Ellenbrook Line, providing “more than 350 jobs” The Department of Transport said in a statement.

“Bayswater is on track to becoming one of Perth’s best connected communities, with access to three rail lines and many bus services,” said Transport Minister, Rita Saffioti

“This exciting METRONET project will allow us to build a better public transport network that links Perth with growing outer suburbs,” she said.
