Roadmap to eased COVID19 restrictions announced

A three-stage roadmap to easing coronavirus restrictions has been announced by Prime Minister Scott Morrison this morning.

Mr Morrison said he was hopeful that a majority of the country will be open by July.

“Today, we have put Australia in a position to go forward,” the Prime Minister said.

“We have strengthened our health system and put the protections in place.”

“It is our goal to move through all of these steps to achieve that COVID-safe economy in July of this year.”

Teacher in hot water after inappropriate punishment of rowdy camp students

A Perth teacher has been investigated after disciplining ‘rowdy’ students at a school camp in March.

Male students of Como Secondary College were forced to move outside, kneel and hold their arms outstretched as a form of punishment after failing to settle for the night at the school’s annual ‘transition camp’ for eleven and twelve year old students.

The State Education Department confirmed that the incident had been investigated with the affected students receiving support for any distress caused.

“The teacher will be professionally supported to ensure that she is equipped with appropriate strategies to manage student behaviour in the future,” Deputy Director General Stephen Baxter told WA Today

Perth Airport’s continued feud with major airlines

The bitter feud between Perth Airport and major airlines continues to boil with the airport accusing Qantas of not ‘coming to the party’ in resolving disputed fees.

The dispute follows the airports dramatic steps to ‘block’ Virgin Australia aircraft from leaving the facility claiming they too aren’t up to date on lease payments following the airline going into administration.
