Perth storm leaves homes powerless
Over 4000 houses across Perth have been left without power after a series of storms that have shook Western Australia’s South West regions.
The storm had winds that reached up to 128km/h with the rain making matters worse, Western Power were on the scene of many areas with with fallen trees and debris to fix power issues overnight.
The wet, windy conditions will continue this afternoon and into this evening with clearing skies forecast for Friday.
Perth Electrician fined for leaving homes as electrical ‘deathtraps’
Licensed electrician, Dryden Peter Adams has pleaded guilty to wrongly wiring many Perth homes as a possible deathtraps leaving a possible 230 volts running through metallic parts of the house connected to the property’s electrical earthing system.
While no one has been injured many homes experienced power issues with pool pumps and garage door motors.
Director of Energy Safety, Saj Abdoolakhan said that the $20,000 and $891.40 fines were appropriate penalties for the breaches.
