PM: Visitors and International students, It’s time to go.
As the coronavirus crisis continues, holders of visitor visas and international students are being encouraged to return to their home countries by Prime Minister Scott Morrison/
The message came after a National Cabinet meeting today where Mr Morrison said those who are under the various visa arrangements and cannot support themselves financially “the alternative is for them to return to their home countries”
However, exceptions could be made according to the Prime Minister for those international visitors with critical skills.
Supermarket giants adopt crowd controls
Coles and Woolworths will adopt new crowd control measures on Monday to further enforce social distancing restrictions
A limit to shopper numbers and queues could be common places as the supermarket giants introduce tighter social distancing measures.
“Customers will start to notice stores implementing new social distancing measures in the lead-up to the Easter weekend,” Woolworths said in a statement.
While Coles would be “restricting the number of customers that can enter a store should we get to a volume that is too great for us to maintain,” according to Coles’ Matt Swindles.
Regional workers to register and isolate
Backpackers and working holiday makers wishing to work in regional areas will need to register with the government as self isolate.
Workers will also need to remain in 14-day isolation before they travel regionally to commence work.
The new measures come in an attempt the contain the spread of the coronvirus to regional areas.
The Good News: Internet erupts over water bottle gaffe
Hysteria has hit the internet once again as eagle-eyed viewers of the ‘2019 Little Women’ spotted an out of place water bottle.
The film set in 1868 features a scene with actor Timothée Chalamet, on the table behind him sits a stainless steel drink bottle and a plastic bottle of water.
Fans were reminded of the ‘Starbucks Coffee Cup incident’ during the final season of Game of Thrones.
