Trumps vaccine prediction
U.S President Donald Trump holds hope that a COVID-19 vaccine could be completed within the year.
Despite estimates from several experts stating that a vaccine will at least take 12-18 months to develop, President Trump says otherwise.
During an interview with Fox News, President Trump stated he is confident that the vaccine will be finished by the end of the year, and that America is “pushing very hard.”.
Some experts, such as infectious diseases expert Dr. Anthony Fauci believes that the vaccine could be ready by January 2020, Immunologist Ian Frazer believes that there may never be an effective vaccine for COVID-19, and is instead working on a drug to relieve symptoms.
Fighting fire with fashion
Relief for those affected by the nationwide bushfires is coming in the form of fashion.
Perth Illustrator Cassandra Anderson is working with American retail brand Anthropology, to sell t-shirts and raise funds for bushfire relief efforts.
Cassandra initially drew the design to show her support on social media, only for Anthropology to scout her, and commission the design for a range of t-shirts.
Cassandra is working with Anthropology to remind the world that, even in the midst of a pandemic, the repercussions of the recent bushfires have not simply gone away, and that those affected need our support, now more than ever.
The shirts can be found on Anthropologies website.
