Perth homes being hit by rat invasion
Rats are encroaching on homes in search of food, after cafes and restaurant were forced to close due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Perth pest control companies have reported an unusual increase In rodent activity for this time of year.
Rhiannon Brown who is the owner of Envirapest said rodents would look for new ways to source food if their current was removed.
“We normally see an increase in winter when rats usually come inside and nest in a roof which is the perfect breeding ground” she said.
Bodies stored in hire trucks as New York funeral homes struggle with COVID-19 death rate.
The city of New York have delivered a freezer truck to a funeral home after it was guilty of storing dead bodies in an unrefrigerated U-Haul vehicle. Eyewitness had seen the vehicles that were parked out the funeral home before raising concerns.
Over 100 bodies were found to be stored in the vehicles after the freezer that normally stores them stopped working. The bodies were found after neighbours reported a strong odour coming from the trucks.
Earthquake shakes WA Wheatbelt town.
An earthquake has rocked a tiny town in the Western Australian Wheatbelt region as some residents woke up to the feeling of a “rumbling” late on Wednesday evening.
Wyalkatchem, located 206-kilometres north-east of Perth, recorded a magnitude 3.0 earthquake just after 11PM last night. There were no reports of injuries or damage, however residents took to social media to check in on each other earlier today. The quake struck 10-kilometres beneath the earth’s surface.
Perth Wildcats confirm Cotton departure
Bryce Cotton has today announced that he will be taking advantage of a two-week window for NBL players to opt out of current contracts and he is leaving the two-time reigning NBL champions.
The two-time NBL Most Valuable Player has been considering his options after all clubs agreed to a new wage which would see his cut by half. Cotton revealed on his Instagram that he had opted out of his current contract, saying “it is in my and my family’s best interest”.
