Australia Post to employ 600 casual staff
Australia Post is currently looking to employ 600 casual workers to deal with the demand of parcels and online orders.
Since lockdown many parcels and packages have been in limbo and also adding to what people may have been buying from the comfort of their own home causing an excess of packages to be delivered.
Australian Post said that they were averaging up to 2 million parcels a day the week before Easter.
Mother pleads not-guilty to poisoning infant son
A Perth mother accused of trying to poison her 13 month old baby has pleaded not guilty this morning.
Brooke Lucas faced the Stirling Magistrates this morning after she allegedly attempted to poison her 13 month old son in December 2018 by putting bleach in her son’s baby formula.
She is set to face the WA Supreme Court on the 15th of June.
City of Perth appoint new CEO
The City of Perth council has appointed Rottnest Island Executive, Michelle Reynolds to take on the role of CEO within the council.
For years the council has been plagued with turmoil and scandal which saw the suspension of Mayor Lisa Scaffidi in 2018.
‘’The City of Perth has been going through a transition in the past two years and I look forward to finalising that work,’’ Ms Reynolds said.
She is due to begin on August the 4th replacing acting chief executive Murray Jorgensen.
Freo players under fire following houseparty
Three Fremantle Dockers players are under investigation after videos have emerged of them attending a house party while in lockdown, therefore breaching social distancing rules.
Defender Luke Ryan and youngsters Michael Fredrick and Jason Carter are the players seen in the video on Sunday night at a ‘’house party’’.
A Fremantle spokesperson said ‘’We are in the process of speaking to the players involved and gathering all the relevant details.’’
