Superhero Immunity, Would You like to Know More?
By Evie Jean Watson – 5th April 2020
Humans are complex organisms, however eating healthy really isn’t that complex. you’ve just gotta learn to rewrite the way you think and interact with food.
Did you know your body is made up of thirty-seven trillion, superhero cells? Your body literally keeps your heart beating without you even having to think about it, and it has the ability to fight off disease and illnesses. However in saying that, you must play your part and give the body correct fuel to get the job done. So you feel alert, well-rested, full of energy, less downtime when your cook because your body can fight these pathogens quicker.
Umm, what the heck, slow down… what’s a pathogen? A pathogen is an organism causing disease in the body. Every living organism is affected by pathogens, including bacteria. The number of viruses and bacteria on earth would blow your mind, they occupy essentially every environment. In just 1 litre of surface seawater, contains more of ten billion bacteria and 100 billion viruses. And not all bacteria is bad for you.
With flue season approaching us, and for general well being, and let’s not ignore the white elephant in the room COVID19.
There is a way you can feel more healthy, energised, happy and well rested, rather than brain fog and fatigue. By changing your mind and your eating habits. Your Cells can become exhausted and be Literally hanging on a thread when running on unhealthy fuel. If your body is getting a lot of dirty toxic polluted fuel, you’re gonna feel bloated, sluggish, tired and foggy.
So what is dirty toxic polluted fuel? That will be the endless amount of Maccas meals subway processed meats, chips, food from the canteen and probably the quarantine snacks you just bought.
You hear it all the time, the healing properties of fresh fruit and veggies.
Did you know how important potassium is?
Potassium is the third most abundant mineral in the body It helps the body regulate fluid, send nerve signals and regulate muscle contractions.
Roughly 98% of the potassium in your body is found in your cells. Of this, 80% is found in your muscle cells, while the other 20% can be found in your bones, liver and red blood cells. Once inside your body, it functions as an electrolyte.

Medical expert, Dr Eric Berg tells up we need up to 7- 10 cups of green leafy salads a day. So eating a nice big salad a day will really boost your body and your cells.
First things first I’m a realist, I’m guilty and I know we all have our favourite types of foods that we know we should be eating in moderation but we are just doomed to be creatures of habit. But there are ways around it so you really can keep those foods for moderation. I’m not saying this will be easy to do but if you want your immunity to really be like a superhero, that means your body is gotta work harder that means you have to give it the right foods.
Start by ditching those French fries for a Greek salad. Or if you’re not ready for that kind of commitment yet swap fries for a jacket potato or mash potato.
Below are some examples of good fuels for healthy cells food filled with micronutrients, vitamins and minerals and antioxidants, the kind of stuff that’s found in superfoods. Superfoods are loaded with nutritional value that your body craves and needs, and when we eat superfoods, our cells are optimised with the good fuel that they need.
Eating these foods will optimise your cell health: full of vitamins and the minerals selenium, sulphur and zinc (all vital to immune function). protecting against infections, colds and flu.
Remember Your body is made up of thirty-seven trillion cells. And the healthier your cells are, the healthier you will be all round. You truly are what you eat.
So make a few swaps that I have suggested. And add some new foods to your diet from the list above. Get cooking and preparing raw salads, and boost those healthy cells!
