McGowan announces full border Closure
WA premier Mark McGowan has announced that WA will close it’s border effective at 11:59PM Sunday Night.
WA has had 8 new positive cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours and McGowan wants to use WA’S isolation to the states advantage.
“You need to get home to WA, and you need to come home now” Mr McGowan said.
Anyone who doesn’t make it home in time before the border closure will not be allowed to return to WA.
Drivers avoid serious Injury after three car pile-up near Canning Bridge
A 4-wheel drive ended up in the Swan River after a three car crash saw a vehicle drive into the Swan River, narrowly missing a cyclist witnesses said.
The drivers of each vehicle were assessed by paramedics at the scene of the crash, however no one was seriously injured.
Artania cruise ship unlikely to leave WA this week.
A dozen crew members from the Artania cruise liner are still yet to be tested with the ship remaining docked in Fremantle.
The German liner has 464 crew members onboard with 12 tested for the Coronavirus after reporting flu-like symptoms.
The state government has requested them to leave with a risk of a further outbreak if the passengers and crew don’t stay in proper isolation.
The Good News: Stalled AFL Season rumoured for June return
The AFL is currently postponed until the end of May, however broadcaster Andy Maher has revealed that the AFL could be set for a mid-June return.
“I have been told by my reliable sources that the AFL have set a date to head back to the field,” Maher said.
Players from all 18 teams are currently on a modified training schedule but Maher relayed rumours of an early return.
“They (players) have heard that the date could be June 11” he said.
